A Tribute to my DNF

I prepared a webpage with some of my notes on the race from Sunday if any of you are interested. The link is:

DNF

Comments:
Letting go can be tough some times.

Well written.
Great idea to journal it so now you can forget about it until you want to pull it out and rehash it
Thanks for sharing.

Kim
PS - 17F? That's a cold race. :) I give you props for even going outside on a day like that. :)

I had and still do have trouble getting over my DNF at Leadville 100. I have a valid excuse of health issues (a.k.a. pulmonary edema) and even all the ones of why it happened to me. But I can't figure of I wasn't taken out of the course - would I have pushed to finish? If I wasn't stupid and ate pizza (I am gluten intolerate) the night before and didn't have diarhhea the first 40M - would I have time to walk slowly to the end? If I didn't do all those 50k races in-between 100M Slam races - would I have been just a bit stronger? If I didn't have my husband pacing me and telling me I have a life threatening condition (he is a mountaineer) - would I have still gone on? I will never know...I made peace with DNF but still have questions.

Doesn't it just suck sometimes having to behave like an adult????

What would the kid in you have done????

very cool

Sorry - I'm way behind on reading blogs. Too bad about your DNF - but it seems like you're doing the right things, looking at details and things you can do differently next time. Because there is always a next time!
